Well, I can’t describe her exactly—except to say that she was beautiful. She was—tremendously alive. | F. Scott FitzgeraldI have very little memory of my Aunt Michele before she was sick-- because honestly, although the illness changed her appearance, there was no shift in spirit. She was alive and beautiful and flaming for her God, filled with love for her family and her church. And shortly after our arrival in Georgia, we stood around her bedside and said goodbye to a saint whom the Lord was calling to Himself. She waited so long for healing, and now, the Lord gave it to her, in the most complete and beautiful way He ever could-- healing for her body, and healing for her soul. Now there is no more pain, no more sadness, no more sin-- only glory upon glory, never ending and always delighting.
"My sweet beautiful friends and family,
How do you begin to try and thank someone that has blessed me immeasurably? So many long years has God had me on this journey during my illnesses, yes, at times made me question, 'What am I missing Lord that my total healing has yet to be manifested?' I have come to realize when you are left alone with your own thoughts and as much alone time with God as I have had, the question no longer became, 'What did I miss?' Quickly Jesus showed me it's not what you've missed, but what you are and still have to gain! I am only a vessel of our Lord, He only needs one willing to work with. God has continued to be faithful in teaching me how He wants to use me for His Kingdom. I know He has called me to be a light. Those of us who have seen light have first seen darkness so that we recognize light when it comes. He has caused me to recognize comfort as well. I have had to go through much pain before I could recognize His comfort. He has called me to recognize compassion that I might become compassionate. There are so many nights that I am reminded of my many blessings as I have seen so many hurting so much more than myself. He has taught me patience as I continually wait on my complete healing. I have learned unconditional love as I've watched everyday and night my husband and family tirelessly care for me. I've had so much favor from God as He has blessed me through each of your prayers, songs, cards, meals and love. I want to remind you many months ago God had blessed me with a vision of my healing. He spoke to my heart, saying, 'Michele, of course I can heal you now, but I choose to make this healing a process of steps. This will bring honor and glorification to My Kingdom. It's not about you or your illness. I have only allowed it because so many of my children are hurting and need to be reminded I'm close to the broken hearted. Many do not even know me and need you to show them. When you are at your absolute weakness I am at my strongest. The power is not you, but Me inside you!' The only ones who know the true sting of pain are those who carry battle scars. How can you become my warrior vessel if you have not gone through a battle? How can you taste victory if you have not felt discouragement, despair and desperation? Now when you are brought out of these things, victory is then known and recognized. He is building an army that will stand against Satan the Father of lies; who says things like this to each and every one of us:
- You can't go on.
- You are a loser.
- See, that was another stupid choice.
- Why do you try, you'll fail anyway?
- You don't really think they love you, right?
- See how bad it gets? You know it won't get any better.
- Wow, you have been waiting on that answer a long time! Surely you don't still believe that He is listening and that He cares.
Well, I would like to be just one of the testimonies that says:
He is your strength when you are weak!
He is your hope when no one else knows how to give it to you.
He is your refuge when you are in trouble and afraid.
He is your joy when sorrow seems to surround you.
He is your shield when everything seems to be caving in on you.
He is your compassion, mercy, grace, light, vision, faith, and song when you feel abandoned!
My prayer, in Jesus name, if any of this feels like you right now, cry out to Him because He does care. He is listening. His loving arms are open wide to receive you! There is no problem that He cannot deliver you from. Ask Him to help you, let Him help you.
Thank you for making my life so much richer. Thank you for loving me through this journey and may we have one great celebration when God brings on my complete healing! May we celebrate now all the blessings that have sustained me during the journey and may I celebrate with you as He wants to be your everything as He is mine!!"
