my shadow.
It follows me wherever I go, and no matter how hard I try, I cannot get rid of it like Peter Pan did. (duh!)
I don't always notice it, but when I do I am reminded of my sinful self.
When I do (or think) something wrong, I sin. {James 4:17} As long as I live, I will always have a shadow in my soul. Because I am "imperfect". {Genesis 2:7}
Though I try to walk the "straight and narrow" path, I will fail because of my shadow{Romans 6:23}. It is only with Christ ahead and beside me that I am able to have the strength to continue on. {Isaiah 41:10}
For Christ has no shadow, but is all Light. {John 8:12} For not even the angels in Heaven can bear to stand in His magnificent glory.
Since Christ paid the price for me on the Cross 2,000 years ago, I am able to enter into His heavenly presence. {2 Corinthians 5:21} When I die my shadow shall leave me forever, but only because of Christ's work alone. {John 3:16}
~
I encourage you, dear reader, to join me in seeking His Kingdom and righteousness with all our hearts, souls, and minds {Matthew 6:33}. Let us forsake anything that is of our sinful selves, and run together to the foot of Cross where He'll be waiting, but only if we hear His call. {John 4:16, Hebrews 4:16}

Hello, my name is Marianela (but people call me Nela for short), and I'm a blogger at "Beloved Star". I'm also a photographer, a martial artist (in training), a health-nut, a reader, a writer, a country-girl, and a sinner saved by the grace of God, through faith in the work of His Son, Jesus Christ. I hope you'll come visit for awhile, so that we may get to know each other better. :) Thank-you, AnnaKate, for letting me guest post on your blog. To God be the glory forever and ever, Amen!

lovely post, Nela! :) what you said, and the scriptures you wrote and so beautiful and fitting. :) {also, your pictures are gorgeous.}
ReplyDeletePraise the Lord that when we fail--and it is often--our sins are covered in Christ's blood, shed on the cross at Calvary for us. :) what a great blessing that is!
